| RMS Remote is based on the commonly available VNC software program.
| VNC (an abbreviation for Virtual Network Computing) is a client/server software package allowing remote network access to graphical desktops. With VNC, you may allow yourself to access your machine from everywhere provided that your machine is connected to the Internet. VNC is free (released under the GNU General Public License) and is available on most platforms.
| The VNC system uses TCP Port 5900 to communicate between Host and Remote. If you have setup a Firewall or Internet Connection Sharing/Proxy software to enable access to the Internet over your LAN you will need to utilize Port Forwarding of port 5900 to use RMS Remote (VNC).
| Please seek advice to setup port forwarding on your system.
