Previous Top Next |
| Interconnecting rooms are required when you have two rooms that can be booked either individually or together using an interconnecting door to link the two room types.
| Firstly if you do not have an account code for your interconnecting rooms and you wish to have a separate code to your other categories you will need to add one.
| Go to the Setup Menu, choose Accounts, then Add. Enter an account code and short description then select Save & Exit.
| You will be required to add a Category normally named 'Interconnecting Rooms'.
| From the Setup menu, go to Category / Rooms then select the Category button.
| Enter all details as shown above. Ensure that you tick the option for 'Interconnecting Category'.
| Do not place a tick in 'Include on housekeepers Report' as housekeeping schedules will be read from the individual areas selected to make up each interconnecting room.
| When you have completed the above screen Choose Save then Exit.
| From the Category listing, as shown below, highlight the Interconnecting category and click on the Areas button.
| In this step we will be adding in your interconnecting rooms.
| Enter the Area Name, this is what you would call the room when it is booked as the two rooms together E.g. 01/04 etc.
| Take the tick out of the 'Statistics' option as this will also be calculated from the individual rooms.
| Go to the Interconnect Tab.
| Place a tick in 'Master Interconnecting Area'.
| Under 'Select an Area' choose the correct category, place a tick in the first area that makes up this interconnecting room and choose the (>) button to move your selection to the right. Repeat this action for the second Area.

| USING THE INTERCONNECTING ROOMS WHEN PLACING A RESERVATION:
| Using the example from the setup above. When you place a reservation in interconnecting room # 01/04 it will automatically book out areas 01 and 06.
| In reverse if you book out area 01 then you will be unable to place a reservation in room 01/04.
| When placing a reservation choose the 'Interconnecting Category', appropriate charge type then room # as shown below. Complete all details as per making a normal reservation Save and Exit.
