To install, please contact the support desk to obtain the password for the RMS / Advent module.  
 
What is the RMS CSTech Interface Module?  
The BoomGate Module works seamlessly with RMS to record the entry and exit of all cars into and out of your property.  
   
The BoomGate Module is designed to work in conjunction with third party software; this software is to be purchased separately to the RMS software. Our Sales staff will make available a list of providers which we currently interface with.  
   
Your BoomGate monitor will show in your system tray.  
   
The BoomGate monitor/s act as an interface between the computer and the BoomGate that will show you exactly what is happening at the gate. You will see all of the accesses and exits at each gate within the monitor/s.  
   
The monitor/s record movement at the gates so that you can see from RMS who is in and out.  
   
GLOSSARY OF TERMS:  
Zones:  
Zones are used when a park has multiple gates which allow access to particular areas of their park; where Gate 1 (In Gate) allows access to long-termers and Gate 3 (In Gate) allows access to tourists, likewise for Out Gates.  
   
Alternate Users:  
These are people who are not staying at your park yet still require access E.g. staff, friends, suppliers and emergency services  
   
Access Type:  
There are 4 access types;  
   
ONLY ALLOWED IN:  
This is governed by the Advent software.  
   
ONLY ALLOWED OUT:  
This is governed by the Advent software.  
   
BOTH IN AND OUT:  
This allows access in and out in no certain order and is the default if not governed by the Advent Software.  
   
ANTI PASSBACK:  
This is governed by the Advent software.  
 
1. SETUP – Turning on the Module  
Go to  
Setup Menu, General Information, Modules Tab  
Tick  
BoomGates Connected & Use CS Technologies Interface  
Enter  
The Shared Folder  
This path should look at the CStech folder on the server, generally similar to \\server\c\cstech\advent  
Save and Exit  
Repeat  
On all machines with RMS installed.  
   
2. LOGOUT – Reset RMS  
Reset  
   RMS so the changes can take effect.  
Login  
   
3. SETUP – BoomGate Options  
Go to  
Setup Menu, BoomGate  
Set  
Required default expiry time  
IF you are using proximity or magnetic cards  
Select  
Set Access No to '-Access No' on Departure  
Select  
   6 Digit Devices  
Save and Exit  
   
4. SETUP – Alternate Users  
Go To  
Setup Menu, BoomGate, Alternate User  
Select  
Add  
Enter  
User Name  
Insert  
Pin/Card Number, Expiry Date & Time  
Choose  
Access type  
Save and Exit  
Repeat  
Until all alternate users are entered.  
   
5. SETUP – Zones (if desired, see page 1 for a Glossary of Terms)  
Go To  
Setup Menu, BoomGate, Zones  
Select  
Add  
Enter  
Zone name  
Move  
The Devices this zone has access to, to the right.  
Save and Exit  
Repeat  
Until all zones are entered  
 
6. INSTALLATION – 3rd Party BoomGate Software  
You will be required to install your chosen 3rd party BoomGate software at this stage. Please refer to the provider of the software for installation instructions.  
   
7. INSTALLATION FROM RMS CD – RMS CSTech BoomGate Module  
Insert  
RMS Install CD  
Select  
RMS Modules  
Click  
Once on CSTech BoomGates button  
Enter  
The password Pen  
Leave  
All defaults  
Restart  
Your computer  
   
8. INSTALLATION FROM WEB – RMS CS Tech BoomGate Module  
Go To  
www.rms-global.com  
Login  
Using Client ID number  
Go To  
Downloads page  
Download  
Access Control – CSTech BoomGate Interface to your desktop  
Install  
Using the password Pen  
Restart  
Your computer  
   
9. RUN – Starting up the RMS CSTech BoomGate Module  
Your BoomGate monitor should start-up automatically on your system restart.  
IF Not  
Select  
Start, Programs, Startup, CSTech BoomGate Monitor  
Enter  
The SQL Server Information  
Enter  
The Shared folder path  
Select  
OK  
Minimize  
To your system tray  
   
cstechboomgatemonitor   
 
10. TESTING  
Open  
The BoomGate Monitor (as shown above)  
Create  
An alternate user in RMS  
Drive  
Up to your BoomGate  
Enter/Swipe  
Your pin/card  
The BoomGate should automatically open. Within 60 Seconds you should see an entry appear in the RMSCSTech Interface Module.  
 
How does the Lock.Dat file work?  
Each time an access number is generated in RMS it is added to a lock.dat file which can be found in the Advent folder.  
 
Advent in turn reads this file ever 60 seconds and deletes it.

1 – This is a hard coded command for Advent where P is for a new access and Z is for a modified access.  
 
2 – Access number  
 
3 – This may be one of 3 options C=Card, P=Pin and K=Key  
 
4 – This is for the client name  
 
5 – This relates to the zones  
 
6 – Spare 1  
 
7 – Access number  
 
8 – Activation Date  
 
9 – Activation Time  
 
10 – Deactivation Date  
 
11 – Deactivation Time.
