RMS has secured the contract for the provision of business information systems for the Labotel Project in Al Musafah, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Labotel is a wholly owned venture of Al Otaiba Enterprises that, when complete, will provide a new standard of accommodation and ancillary services to thousands of overseas workers employed in local building projects.

Chairman of the group Mr Bin Saeed Al Otaiba says that nothing has been overlooked in the provision of quality services to workers and their disparate needs taking into account multiple languages, nationalities and religions. When complete, Labotel will accommodate and feed over 20,000 workers.

In addition to clean, comfortable and climate controlled accommodation workers will also have access to additional services such as grocery shops, saloons, clinic, internet, laundry and telephone booths.

When workers first arrive at the facility they will go through a badging process where they and registered and provided with access cards. This will enable them to enter and exit the facility in accordance with their area of residence, catering and recreation locations etc.

It is this information technology that RMS is providing to allow for the automated coordination of the movement of large numbers of workers in a streamlined and orderly fashion. RMS will be the master technology which will manage the allocation of rooms and payment of accommodation accounts. Linked to RMS will be a state of the art access management system which will automatically control which areas a worker can access and those meals they are entitled to based on their agreement with Labotel.

With the employment of excellent communications the implementation process has begun with collaboration between local RMS technicians in our Sharjah office and key staff in our Melbourne office.
